Looks like the second annual jdm rides meet hosted by teknotik.com was a hit. The bad weather did not put a dent on this event do to the amount of cars that showed up. Jdmrides one of Toronto’s largest Internet community websites tends to hosts meets every few months to get members from other clubs/sites/forums to tag along and make friends with others from the automotive community. Looks like its going to be an amazing event with Altech Performance making a comeback after being away for about a year. Autoxtrem just might break into the 8’s since there vw golf mk3 in the pro class just went 9.1x and still has about 5psi more to go and no 2step not to mention slugging it out of the hole. Splitfire for a change should be coming out with the datsun for this event and lets not forget about our American friends making an appearance with Norris brining 3 super cars, his girlfriends ek ss/am, his drag car ps/am and their ss/pa integra. Let me tell you there will be some very close races.

So this video was taken by my Blackberry Bold, as you can tell the video isn’t that great.

The story behind this is as follows. We were in my friends 04 GLI driving down King St, just before Bathurst. We were looking at the new Mazda 3 was in front of us for like 5 minutes and we were just talking about it. All of a sudden a cop shows up behind us with his cherries. We thought that it was there to pull us over, but we were wrong. Cop went around us and right behind the Mazda. Following that, another 7 or 8 cops showed up and completely surrounded the car, including a forensics unit. They hopped out with their hands on their guns yelling at the car.

The video shows part of the swarm, view it full screen and I think you can see the cops as well.

According to CityNews, GM is planning on laying off another 1,600 employees over the next few days.

GM is planning on ridding a total of 4,000 workers in Canada.

I know this is a bit old news, but still worth the mention.

Some of you know that Mazda is considering bringing over the Mazda2 to North America in 2010.



The Car comes in two engine configurations; 1.3L & 1.5L with 62hp & 76hp respectively. Even with low horsepower, the 1.5L comes with 136lbs of torque.

If the deal goes through, Chrysler would receive $7billion from the U.S. government to sustain their operation while Fiat will overhaul the corporation.

“Fiat would get access to the U.S. market … It would bring to North America its popular Cinquecento (500) car next year, while its premium Alfa Romeo brand would make cars in Canada or the United States, Marchionne said.”

According to Reuters.com, GM is recalling nearly 1.5 million vehicles from its consumers.

The recall applies to the following vehicles:

1997-2003 Buick Regal
1998-2003 Chevrolet Lumina
1998-2003 Monte Carlo
1998-2003 Impala
1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix
